There's always plenty going on at The Chequers. From Rod Stewart Tribute nights to 'The Best of Soul Sounds' along with 'The Essex Hunt', Annual Bonfire Night and an upcoming 'Rat Pack Night'. Please get involved and join in the fun.
Also don't forget, as always we hold Live Music every Tuesday & Friday. MAYOur Heated Terraces will be open from May Bank Holiday Monday 5th.

Cricket on the Green has started – pop over and spectate while you enjoy your drink!
Soul Diva Night - Introducing Verna Francis. Soul diva Verna will entertain you with sensational Tina Turner, Gladys Knight and other classic soul hits on Wednesday 14th. £40 per head cabaret and dinner. This event is likely to be very popular so early booking is advisable.

Local Charity Event in aid of Starlight Children's Charity
This year The Chequers are supporting Starlight Children's charity for terminally ill children, granting them a wish. If you need any further information or would like to be involved, please ask staff for further details.
JULYClassic & Sports Car Club Annual Show - Keep your diary free for Sunday 6th for another enjoyable day out for all the family on the Green. The annual car show starts at 11am and finishes at 4pm. The Chequers will be open all day so why not make a day of it!
Cricket Week - Matching Green Cricket Club hold their Annual Cricket Week on 23rd to 25th. There will be cricket every day on the Green so come and enjoy some traditional entertainment and support your local team. We will be open all day from noon for you to enjoy our full range of wines and beers including PIMMs on tap. Why not pop in for an al fresco lunch or a delightful evening meal and support the boys in white!
AUGUSTBank Holiday Monday 27th - If you are not on holiday why not come and join us for al fresco dining on a relaxed summer afternoon with friends on our two terraces.
Previously at The Chequers "Charity at the Chequers" We have had another very successful annual charity event in 2007. It was held in aid of Breast Cancer Research at St. Margaret's & Princess Alexandra Hospitals in association with surgeon Ashraf Patel and raised just under £10,000. Thanks to all who participated!
