May Bank Holiday Weekend

2 – 4 May 2026

We are open all weekend, including the Bank Holiday Monday. Our Monday opening times are 9am to 11am for breakfast and from 12pm until 6pm for lunch service (last food orders are at 3.30pm) A special Bank Holiday menu will be available on Sunday and Monday.

Please note, there are other events going on in the area. Monday, 4 May: Matching 10k Run from 8am to 11am and Matching May Day Festival from 10.30am until 5pm.

Matching May Day Festival

Monday, 4 May | 10.30am – 5pm

Lots of fun for all the family! BBQ, icre cream van, stalls of all types, may pole dance, tea & cake tent, pony rides, cake baking comp, fun dog show and more. Festival starts straight after the start of Matching 10k run.

Matching 10K Race

Bank Holiday Monday, 4 May 2026

2026 will be the inaugural Matching 10k run. The route takes runners through the beautiful rural landscapes of west Essex and East Hertfordshire communities. It will be a truly unique experience, as this route can only be accessed on this one day. Part of the run is on private land that will be opened exclusively for this race event!​

With 500 participants on the day, and expected additional spectator numbers in the region of 1,500, the run synergises with the annual Matching Green May Day event on Matching Green.

Father’s Day

Make this Father’s Day one to remember and gather the family for a relaxed Sunday feast in Dad’s honour. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon with our regular Sunday menu (no set menu), served all day and featuring a delicious selection of roasts, perfect for celebrating together. Available seating times: 12/12.30pm, 3/3.30pm or 5.30/6pm.

Matching Green Car Show

Sunday, 12 July | 11am – 4.30pm

Come and feast your eyes on some beautiful motor cars. A fantastic car show set on the Cricket Green, always a very large turn out of classic cars, trucks, bikes, military, commercials, customs, hot-rod and all that goes with it. An enjoyable day out for all the family. The Car Shows starts at 11am and finishes at 4pm.
Table reservation is required if you wish to dine in the restaurant or on the terrace. Our Sunday menu will be available in the restaurant and on the terrace. Our main bar and garden bar will be open for drinks.
