The Chequers Matching Green is a stylish venue for your special occasion or your group dining needs. We are rural destination dining venue conveniently situated on the Hertfordshire / Essex border in the pretty village of Matching Green. Not far from Harlow, Bishop’s Stortford and the M11. The Chequers offers a freshly prepared menu in a warm, stylish ambience, plentiful free parking and well served by taxis.
The Lounge
Our Lounge is the perfect place for group dining. It comfortably accommodates up to 20 people for a sit down meal.
The Terrace
An Al Fresco table alternative is available on our Terrace (weather permitting).

our booking policy
Parties of 14 or more guest would need to choose from our Group Dining menu. Deposit of £10 per person will be required to secure your reservation. The deposit is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation or a no-show. A 12.5% discretionary service charge will be added to the final bill. Please note, the restaurant reserves the right to change the menus without a prior notice.
Please note, due to busy restaurant service, the Dining Room and the Terrace are not available for private hire on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
